Dearest Spring

2018 | fabric, thread and paint | 45” x 45”

This is my love letter to the season of beginnings and growth. It came to life in winter, while I desperately missed the thunderstorm skies, damp earth, lush green foliage, and the bloom and buzz of spring. This piece is machine quilted and hand embroidered. A selection of the fabrics used are sun printed.

Dearest Spring was awarded Honorable Mention and the Creative Use of Stitching Award (presented by the Southern Indiana Quilt Guild) at Form, Not Function: Quilt Art at the Carnegie, Carnegie Center for Art & History, New Albany, IN - May 2018.
